We went to ultrasound-checkup yesterday, and I was very nervous. I hadn't felt the baby kick yet, and didn't know if the baby was alright or not (due to the lack of kicks and small complications during this pregnancy). But when the midwife put the ultrasound on my tummy, a head apperad immediatly, then a moving body and even a waving hand with tiny distinct fingers. So cute and heartbreaking, and I couldn't stop smiling. The midwife explained everything she saw, while our baby kept moving, waving and even yawning. We saw that the babys stomach and bladder were filled with water - the baby started to pratice eating!
Everything looked great according to the midwife, and we asked if she could see what sex it was. She took a look, and it was obvious for both me and Johan and the midwife that it's a babybrother in there. I was a bit surprised since I was convinced it was a babysister. I thought about what Oscars reaction would be, I know he has been dreaming about and wishing for a little sister, and he already bought pink clothes.
We bought three pictures (ridicoulus that they don't give them away). The pictures weren't so good, not as good as the one we bought on Oscar when we saw him on ultrasound (picture below, I tried to explain what everythin is - in Swedish though). But it was really great and clear live on the monitor, and I remeber how he looks, a lot like Oscars profile.
Oscar stayed at his best friend, and didn't want to go home when we came, but we stayed for a tasty dinner and good companion. When we biked home, Johan told him that's it a boy, and his first reaction was as expected; "buuuu", but he seemed to rethink and got really excited after a few minutes. He said; we'll be three boys in the family now, and just one girl! I told him that his babybrother will be cute in the pink clothes he bought. Oscar was eager to see the pictures and talked about the baby the whole way home. He wants him to have a cute name and said that "Claes" is cute, we'll see about that, hehe.
He found it quite hard to sleep, wanted to talk about the babybrother instead. We decided to pick upp Oscars suggestion and call him Lilleman while he's in the tummy. Minutes before Oscar finally fell asleep he said "It's unfair that almost all babys becomes boys, but I love Lilleman anyway". And this morning he talked to Lilleman, said goodmorning and pulled a prank on him by blowing fart-sounds on my stomach. He said that I'll be so big on christmaseve that I'll have to sit and eat in the livingroom instead of by the kitchentable.
I feel great and amazingly happy, can't understand that my second son is in there waving and kicking around even though I barely feel it yet.
He is calculated to arrive january 22, 2012 - Four days after my exam/degree as a teacher & preschool-teacher. My forecast is that he'll arrive between 28-30 january, but we'll see! If he doesn't wait until february he'll share birthday-month with his grandpa, my dad. But if he waits until february, he'll share birthday-month with me!
